I rewrote the title of this article to be provocative, but it’s an important half-truth.
In combination with some of Duncan Watts recent work, I would say that this article, which discusses power law distributions, is essential reading for people working in the PR/Advertising/Marketing realm. It gets to the statistical, empirical core of what I would call the “influence economy” or “link economy.”
